Question hi. new here. electrical gremlins...:( advise?

1991 toyota 22re truck. my pos and neg battery cables are showing continuity when i turn my ignition switch ON, the OFF and ACC spots don't show continuity. it would go away if i disconnected the electrical ignition switch so i replaced it, with no luck. what else could it be grounding out the pos wires? i disconnected almost everything i could get to to see if that sensor/part was grounding out, but nothing. i just had the truck cranking over the other week then when i got back into it the other day it did this now....any help or suggestions?

Assuming you're testing this with the batt disconnected, you should have continuity between the + and - batt terminals with the ign. switch on: how else is the voltage from the battery going to get through all the electronics, etc. and back to ground? The ignition switch is completing circuits, in particular, connecting the coil / ignition circuits and energizing the coil.
In the ACC position, you don't have as many things connected to the battery, and if they're switched off, the resistance through those circuits may not be low enough to trigger continuity testers.
