Hesitation When Starting Truck

I'm having an issue starting my 1990 Toyota pickup with a 22RE. When I turn the ignition key, there is about a half second delay, then a click from under the hood, a click near the computer by the passenger kick panel, then the starter motor kicks in. It only does it when it has been sitting overnight or longer, but, with colder weather ahead, it's worrying me.
The battery is OK and I cleaned the terminals, but it still does it.
Any idea what the problem might be?

I'm reasonably sure that the problem was caused by worn out starter solenoid contacts, so the first plan was to rebuild the solenoid. I checked my records; the starter was a rebuild with ten years on it so I decided to cough up $50 for a lifetime warranty rebuilt starter. Cleaned all the contacts and it seems to be back to normal.
