I made the mistake of not loosening my crankshaft pulley before tearing my engine down. I am trying to replace my timing chain. I have no access to air tools and have no idea how I am going to get it off. Please help! I need my truck fully operational by tomorrow evening. I need this done!

You can either put the transmission in 5th gear and try and break it loose that way, or use a socket and breaker bar with the breaker against the frame and tap the starter to break it loose, either way should work.

What myyota said for sure! Actually, I had a H E double hockey stick of a time trying to get mine loose. I finally had to heat it up with a torch and use the large breaker bar to break it loose as the PO had lock tight on it...yeah, I said lock-tight. Best of luck.

Once you remove that bolt, you still have to put it back on, and the spec is something like 181 ft-lbs. So using the starter, or a big impact wrench, or other such ballistic methods to remove it is not going to help you on rebuild.

BTW that 181 ft lb spec is for the 3VZE, not the 22RE. The 22RE spec is 116 ft lbs.

lol. No, definitely not compared to some of the techs here. I know my veezy fairly well though, and since I just changed my timing belt I knew that 181 spec was for the V6 and I doubted that the 4 cyl was the same so I looked it up.
