HELP? Where are the fuse & resistor located on my 89 4Runner for the ECT (TCU)

So, this is my 1st 4Runner. 1989, 3.0/Auto. It has the shifting problem, and I have dug up AW4 troubleshooting tech help off the net. It has a brand new TPS from the person before I bought it, and a fresh trans flush & filter. I am shifting it manually currently. I disconnected the ECT (TCU) & tested the D16 pin (+12VDC w/key on/engine off- good) and then C10 pin (no voltage w/brake on or off - FAIL). According to info I have, this points to the resistor and of the fuse/wiring upstream toward the ign.

I however, cannot find an inline fuse, nor a resistor. And I do not know where/what to look for.

Can anyone please help point me in a direction??

THANX!
JC

The resisters you are talking about are probably the solenoids to control shifting. Here is a link to a site that has an A340 auto trans factory service manual for download. http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/index.html

This should be able to guide you through the troubleshooting. Good luck and hope you find the problem.

No, there should be another resistor pack and a fuse inline with the power wire to the ECT box. At least, there always is on Jeeps with the same transmission. The solenoids are in the trans itself, under the filter.
Thanx for the link. I will check it out.
