Help stumped on 22re warm start problem
Hey im really stumped with this one so any help is appriciated, 1987 pickup with motor from 86 22re
I have changed fuel injectors and new o rings and seals, also checked that cold start is operating properly.
So if i hop in truck after its been sitting it fires up no problem first try, if i turn it off and try to start it again it wont start. Wait between 2-10 minuits and it will fire up again. Fuel pump is working as i can hear it, when it wont start spraying starting fluid into throttle body will make it run, but it wont run on its own, not sure if thats beacuse MAF isnt connected or fuel issue,
I have searched lots and many seem to have a problem like this but no one with a real answer how to fix it, im not going to buy abunch of parts guessing they will fix it. I really hope someone has a answer as i am absolutely stumped with this
Thanks
Jeff

- Does it continue combustion while key is in "Start" position but die when key is released?
- If you jump the Fuel Pump Check Connector (pic below) pins together, does it stay running even when ign key is released?
If so, quite possibly MAF or COR system problem. Here's how C.O.R. and MAF work

You are doing the right thing. Leave the guessing, replacing parts blindly and charging you for it to the stealership and incompetent shops.

Thanks! I will go grab one and do that once the battery charges! I was thinking about that but its only a few months old, if that doesnt help i should have a spare fuel pressure reg somewhere, i also have a spare fuel pump, which should i start with?!
I just dont understand how any of those could be bad when it runs mint from cold, its only when i start it then turn it off it takes a few minuits
