Help..... Really Smart People

93 4x4, remanufactured 22re motor with 50k on it, runs smooth, so yesterday got up and drove about 10 miles (some running around) parked it in the driveway and headed out again about an hour after that, popped the clutch and killed it while pulling out of the driveway, after that it started up with difficulty and ran like it was on 2 cylinders, let it sit for awhile but still the same. I managed to get it to my mechanic friend (driving in second gear with no power) and he has no idea what the problem is, plugs are firing, has good compression, fuel pump is flowing, timing is ok, he did say the plugs were a little black when he pulled them.....he's still scratching his head, he says it's like it's getting too much fuel....any one have any ideas??

If it idles fine but has no power it could be a clogged fuel filter. Maybe you dislodged some crap popping the clutch. Just a guess. For the record I'm not really smart...but I do get lucky once in a while.

My "running way to rich' issue was electrical and ONE bad injector. To confirm it is running rich and not mechanical related detonation issue, follow the FSM at the link below and see if your oxygen sensor crapped out, and at the minimum (if it's workign properly) it will tell you if you are running rich.
