HELP!!! problems with locking hubs

Hi i have a problem with my '88 4X4 pickup. I believe that my right front locking hub is worn out, when i have both hubs locked in and am in 4WD there is a very loud rubbing/griding sound coming from that area. I have a few friends that work at a local auto shop who say that the hub is worn out (one of the springs in it or the clutch in it) and the hub isn't locking which is creating this problem. What do i do? I am researching for a new hub. If anyone has any input or knows where to get a new locking hub (or Pair) for a good low price please let me know.

I don't know how much it would cost, but you can rebuild your hubs. Be tons cheaper than buying new or used.....

This will walk you thru it

There are quite a few good quality aftermarket replacement hubs that are very reasonably priced.

X2 on checking CV joints The locking hubs wouldn't cause the grinding. Don't go to aftermarket hubs the Aisin are strongest have lowest profile.
