I just got done installing 2" coil spring spacers on my 91' 4Runner. I disconnected the track bar (panhard rod) on the drivers side to help give more axle drop so I could get the spacer and the coils in. Now after the sapcers are in I can't get the track bar back on. The axle has to shift towards the passenger side slightly so I can get it back on. I had a friend sit on the tail gate while the truck has it's tires on and it's on the ground...in hopes to compress the suspension more to cause a shift but this did not help.

Any ideas as how to do this??

The only thing I can think of is to undo everything so I can get the trackbar back on and then put the spacers/coils back in.

Shoulda researched more before you lifted. You need a 2" Panhard bar drop bracket. You should probably take the spacers out until you get a drop bracket.

I did research, I specifically asked if I need anything else, the vendor did not indicate anything else, very vague. There is no mention of installing or needing a drop bracket for a 2" spacer on their website. I have only found drop brackets for lift's great then 2.5"

i ran LC coils (3+" of lift) with out one for about a year.... the axle sat a little towards the passenger side but it didnt have any issues.. for only 2" spacer lift i think you should be able to get by without it.

As I replied to your e-mail, you can try adding more weight in back (i.e. more friends) or put a jack under the passenger side of the axle and lift it up to realign things. And you can measure the heights of both ends of the mounting holes for the panhard bar and if they are more than a few inches different, then a drop bracket may be what you need. Not sure what springs you have in there or how much they may or may not have sagged.

Hi Rodger, thanks for the input...

The coils are stock replacements from Checker Auto, McQuay Norris brand and only about 2 years old with approx 40K. I would assume very little sag if any.

It could be they have very little sag or are perhaps even a little taller than stock, so with the spacers you may be over 2" higher than stock. The springs you had were not mentioned in your initial e-mail inquiries to me, so I assumed you had the typical 1" - 2" sag in the stock rear springs and if so, then adding 2" spacer would basically get you back to stock and thus not likely you would need any drop brackets. But that assumption was perhaps not correct in your case. without exact information it is hard to give exact answers. I have descriptions on the web page of your you can measure your vehicle to determine if you will need drop brackets and have now added a link in the coil spacer section to take you to the panhard drop bracket section to make this more clear.

Got a picture of how far off it actually is? Chances are it was at least slightly sagging, pushing it to the drivers side and now with the spacers it's probably pushing it closer to where it should be, on passenger side. I'm curious to know how far off the axle is going to be once you get it hooked back up. My guess is it won't be enough to justify a panhard drop bracket.

Might also try some ratcheting tiedowns to see if you can ratchet the axle closer. Either that or get some coil spring compressors and compress the coils enough to align the panhard.

Well people, I finally was able to get the track bar back on over the weekend. I had to buy a come-along hand winch. I bought a cheapy from Harbor Freight and it worked. I only had to pull the axle towards the passenger side about half the width of the bolt that bolts the track bar to the chassis. It was an easy task. Thanks for all the advice.

You're going to get a drop bracket eventually right? This is just a temp fix.... right?

Yeah, I got the drop bracket already, 4" drop bracket but that didn't help with getting the track bar back on, I still had to use the come-along, with out it there's no way I could have got it back on. At least my track bar is more horizontal to the axel though.
