HELP Newbie

Hi
I have enjoyed reading the threads on YotaTech. I have a problem with my 1994 2WD 22RE truck. I brought it in last week to have the oil changed and I just noticed the kid that was wrenching on my truck to get the oil filter off (Why he had to use a wrench when its the FRAM spin on filter with grip??) the sensor is now broke a sensor right below the oil filter I changed my own oil for YEARS on this truck..
Never had a problem avoiding the sensor...Im not sure what sensor this is?? This might be and oil temp. sensor?

What are your ideas? Where can I get one? the Dealership?

Thanks in advance
Pete

Depending on your truck that was the oil pressure unit, either a light or a gauge on your dash.

its the oil pressure sender in an SR5 truck or in a DLX or base its the dummy indicator, you can get them at advance or autozone for pretty cheap

LoL Well I little smarter than that...I like this forum I find it interesting alot of forum menbers are rebuilding their 22RE..I think its GREAT..My Toyota truck has 296k and still running strong I drive it everyday since 1996...Its still my daily driver!! I rebuilt a 327 chevy engine but never a 22RE and feel this is a GREAT forum to learn from the menbers!!

Welcome...Glad to see another Toy Reaching the 300k Mark. I hope to get there someday. My 92 is only reading 135K and I feel embarrassed about that. I'm 3rd owner...enough of that.

If the sensor is on the front side, it's the idiot light. If it's to the rear it's the Knock Sensor.

psssssst...I used Fram for years and no longer do so. I have head a bunch and they don't seem to do as well as some of the others.

Here is a bit of reading...http://www.300cforums.com/forums/gen...dissected.html

Thats very interesting article I have used the cheap filter almost always.. I will spend more money on a better filter..

Thanks lumpy

Also I bought a new sensor at Advance Auto Parts.. However, I am in Indiana and only have a couple tools in my toolbox..I replaced the sensor in the parking lot at Advanced Auto parts..The kid that helped me was cool giving me the proper tools (sockets) to borrow while I put the new sensor in.. I have a huge Snap-On box full to tools in Florida at home..I miss my TOOLS

thanks for the link! so... does that mean I should be getting the purolator PureONE filter? I always knew fram is crap and K&N is more pricey than its worth... but I never gave purolator brand a second thought until I read that.

pure one, wix, and mobil1 filters are essentially the same thing wrapped in different logos. The pure one is usually the cheapest out of the three.
