Help a newb, tire fitting question about 33's, with photos
I have read every thread I could find on the net and on this forum. I have a 94 ext cab sr5 v6 with 247 thousand miles. Im giving it to my son. I have owned the truck since around 2000. I have never done any lifting and in fact it still has the original shocks. The po told me he did install add a leafs so he could pull his lawn trailer. My son wants 33x12.50r15 tires. Ive read about the torsion bar crank, all the threads about what can be done without a lift. Thats the way I want to go, I really dont want him in a vehicle with a higher center of gravity, etc. Plus we both like the look of non lifted vehicles. When I got to crawling around the truck I noticed one of the leafs is broken, looks like for a long time. I will be replacing both sides of the leafs. I found the torsion bar bolts and they feel and look like the are sticking out above the top nut about 2". My question, by looking at the photos, is it possible the po already cranked on the torsion bars? I checked for a body lift, and its all stock. I really dont want a body lift either. In fact If I can just trim the fenders, I will buy aftermarket fenders, cut them, install them, and then get him a new paint job. I just need a little help in figuring out what the other owner 16 years ago did. I am getting 15x8 steel wheels with a -3.75 backspace. The present wheels are 15x7, dont know the backspace but it isnt much, and 31x10.5 tires. Thanks in advance for any advice. All measurements are to the top of the fender well, and back of fender well. They are 15" to the top of the wheel lip, 22.5 to the center of the hub. I have also removed the fender well liners too.
