!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!! I need help please

1987 Toyota pick up 2wd auto with OD

So this summer I took my block and head to get rebuilt this is where it starts.

so had all the rebuilt new timing chain ,cover ext all that was done so it was as close to new as possible .

Here’s what I bought new

.offy dual plan intake manifold
.Weber 32/36 carb
.1 inch carb spacer
.hole new ignition system other then the coil
.k&n air filter

From what I can think of right now that’s all

But my issue is that its starts and it idles fine. I can step on it and it sounds and works fine.

as soon as I put it in drive the idle drops doesn’t die most of the time but try to drive it starts reallllllly slow and I have to have it to the floor . Then it just lets go and it will go faster but no fast then 50ish km.

All I know that I've done wrong this far is I need an 81 water outlet for the offy intake.

Oo and all the oil's are at perfect level

I miss my truck very much and any help would be nice.

Sounds like the trans torque converter is "locked up" (like it does when you are at freeway speeds, it keeps the transmission from "hunting" at cruise). Sounds like an electrical fault on the trans side of things. The OD switch or speed sensor (for the auto trans) may be the culprit.

The FSM has some pretty helpful diagnostics regarding auto trans stuff. See if you can get your hands on one.

It's kind of like the trying to start off in 2nd gear on a manual transmission.

Red face

:wabbit2: This is a little confusing just what work did you have done??

Did you have the whole engine rebuilt??

If it is not a transmission issue was the distributor out and is the timing correct

Timing gears not on correct it will idle fine but under load it will die.:jessica::jessica:
