Help on choosing engine changeover for my '87 4Runner to 8cyl!
I have a very solid (from CA) '87 4Runner currently with 22re 4cyl with 258,000 miles automatic
with electronic overdrive and A/C. Drives great. No power, of
course. Haha
am considering switching it
From 4cyl to an 8cyl with sidepipes!
any and
all suggestions would be appreciated! I know it's a major
job. But I have seen a few online for sale
with a 5.0 liter in it.
Help!!

Just why do you feel you need a V8 swap ??
Why not the tried and true 3.4 with quite a lot having been done lots more support
Side pipes do they still make those??
Any swap is pretty much straight forward the mechanical and electrical .
Just where do your skills lay .??
Figure out just what engine your going to use then do your research
