Hi guys, I need some input here, Bought a 1986 toyota 4x4 22r carb, Low miles...54,000, One owner, farmer in indiana, Ran great , so I should have let it alone,,,,But i wanted to tune up a bit,,This morning I used some carb cleaner on her, new pcv valve, added bottle fuel treatment in tank,,new fuel filter, When i started her, she ran great for 2 mins then started running really rough, missing, blowing black smoke from tailpipe,,wont idle, Think i may have some dirt or carbon that got loosened up from carb cleaner? or any advice from you guys would be great, Thank you.

it could just be the carb cleaner making it do that, i had tha same problem on an s10, just keep giving it gas until it burns off

Yea you might have loosened up all the crap in you gas tank. Thats why I only use the spray carb cleaner on my 88 toy.

Thanks Also should note.... shes been mostly parked last 2 years,,, not sure the shelf life of gas these days

Seems to have cleared up........blew some air thru carb. good fer now? thanks again,
