Head rear plate gasket or FIPG
Im having a great time tryin to buy this gasket somewhere. The rear plate for coolant on a 22re head. Located in the back of the head.
You know the one you really dont want to leak after you get your head on and your all done..I know a dealer will sell me one but ive already bought some FIPG.
My question is, would the head get too hot there to use it? Anyone gone for it and had it work out ok? Its good enough for the water pump but I thought it could be too hot back there and I really want that thing sealed.
Also doing this on a sad budget or I wouldnt even post this.

toyotapartszone.com or your dealer.
Personally, I wouldn't use RTV on that.
92 Toy, you should have one laying around if you never took that plate off during your rebuild. I did so I used mine.

I used some permatex coolant specific RTV on mine after the rebuild and it's holding up fine. I let it dry for 3 full days before I started up the engine though. The longer it can cure before starting the better!
