So I took the truck back to the dealership that did the shady head gasket job on it a few months back to have them diagnose the obvious oil leak that in my opinion is coming out of the head gasket. Well the mechanics exact words were " its leaking out of a blank on the back of the drivers side head, had we milled the heads we would have replaced them." " We set a strait edge on the heads and they looked fine so we didnt mill them"... Needless to say I got pretty pissed when they told me that it will be another $500 to repair this issue even though the original head gasket job that they did is still under warranty! Im taking it tomorrow to my regular, non Toyota dealership mechanic for his opinion before I blow a gasket of my own with Toyota HQ, but he even said that if they didnt mill the heads that they are going to blow, and considering that it blew the last time at the #6 cyl and now its leaking oil right there its just about enough to drive me over the edge! I also found out that they used more non Toyota parts than they assured me, I called Car Quest and gave them all of the PN's off of the receipt, they charged me for a Toyota timing belt, $48.. then $212 for the tensioner, which is the car quest part number for their entire timing belt kit, which they sell for $130 with a belt and the tensioner!! My head hurts! The service manager that assured me that the only non Toyota parts used were the wires that I called them out on initially, then when I found the thermostat that they were the only aftermarket parts used wasnt there today... Im going to see what my mechanic says before I jump his tomorrow morning!! What a mess, you know.. I know that they are called Stealerships for a reason but damn, this is not right!! I wouldnt take a lawn mower to them for a repair at this point. Im really afraid that they are going to screw my engine up if they have to redo the job, or that they are not even going to redo it but half ass it. I want BOTH heads taken back off and properly milled, new head studs again and new head gaskets again... Ill keep you guys informed as this chapter of the Toyota dealership saga unfolds. I know.. Im pretty pissed about it, they have made comments like, well the truck is 21 years old... It should not matter, its in great shape and the 3.0 was used from 88 to 95 so its not like the engine and trans are antique. Here is a link to the thread that has the other posts about this saga.. Its 100% bull, but Im going to give them the chance to make it right before I really get Toyota HQ involved, luckily I have the case # on hand ready to go that HQ gave me when I called the first time..

It doesnt matter? let me get this straight, it doesnt matter that they used cheap aftermarket parts and charged you for dealer parts??!
