Unfortunately, the head gasket in my son's 22r bit the dust in front of us today.

I've read many recommendations on using only a factory Toyota head gasket so I went to source one. The truck is a 1986 SR5 that originally had an EFI motor, but was sporting a carb and a hacked up wiring harness when we bought it. We ended up even using a different block and bought an Engine Builder head for it so it is a true Frankenstein.

As I have looked up the Toyota part number for the head gasket on a 1986, I find two part numbers. (1111535060 and 1111554021) Can someone tell me the difference in these and how would I know which one I need? (I have the head off now.)

Also bookmark Toyomotorparts.com, plug in your VIN or choose your make/model/year. Click around you will see very very useful diagrams pop up, but it can't do some things that the other site can do.

Bookmark them BOTH, play around with the sites, click links, scroll through, etc...there is a lot of information to be found about your vehicle.
