While working on the truck today, I found this. Never noticed it before. Seems very odd the way it is broken. Anyone have any recommendations on how to deal with this? It's the crossmember which the muffler bracket is attached to as well as a the gas tank.

It is fairly common to see on trucks that have to deal with rust issues. Some use a metal pipe to replace it and just weld everything back to it.

I am sure that is not the only area that needs attention

I have used square tubing to replace those pieces or round DOM if I had it laying around.

Thanks guys. Sadly it's not my first time dealing with a rusted frame (rip my '99). Have you guys seen them go in this way. I've always seen the, rust through. This looks like it was pulled apart.
