Grille ony 1986 Toyota pickup sr5 xtra cab

Which models or years of pickups came with the black front grille?
My 1986 has a chrome grille so I'm just wondering.

I think they started them with the 84' and continued through until 87' when they released the turbo. I think the chrome grill may have been more of an SR5 option. My 86's is black and still original Name: P6180420.jpg

Black grilles were available 84-86 on the 4Runners and trucks.

In 87, Toyota switched to a gray, or "Argent" colored grille instead of black, and changed the grille design slightly.

My 87 standard cab base 4x4 had the dark gray grille (Not black) I upgraded to a chrome grill and bumper from another truck from a salvage yard, not sure if it was a SR-5 or a deluxe, Later I changed my preference to liking the looks of the older black grills with the white toyota name of that generation truck...

You going for the BTTF look? not sure what emblem ''TOYOTA" your speaking about, there were all types, can you upload some pic of what you have and what you want? you can cut items from plastic and use a resin filler to cover any changes and repaint, others have done it on they toyota grilles to put in aftermaket fillers like grates or hollow diamonds, Do alot of searches and you find others who have done it, do keyword search's on Yotatech and search's using google, doing google search's brings up Yotatech links too on toyota questions posted. I do it that way mostly, I write a question and then put a yotatech tag at the end...

What year is your truck? 84-88 trucks & 4runners have a bolt on toyota logo on the grill. It is not embeded; just loosen two screws and its out. Very easy to do

I was reffering to the toyota logo on the grill. But the grill itself is also really easy to remove. Use a long flathead screwdriver to loosen the clips.

I didn't have a long enough one so I accidentally cracked my grill replacing a headlight.

I wouldn't concern yourself on the toyota name on the grille, look at all the BTTF pics of the toy in the movie looking on the front and the smitty built double tube hoop bumper covers the Toyota name with the hoop and you can barely see it, go to toyotapartseast.com and see if you can order a new black grille :}
