glasspack

I was thinking about putting a cherrybomb glass pack on my 89 toyota pickup.. its got a 2.4L engine.. I was wondering what it sounds like.. anyone have some advice for me??

Have a little glasspack on mine - was the cheapest thing the Muffler shop had when I was on more of a budget. Mine sounds just fine, not loud / droney at all, has a bit of noise when revving through the gears as you'd expect from a glasspack. My butt dyno tells me that the throttle response seems a bit better after throwing it on too - over the old holey OEM muffler.

i put cherry bombs turbo muffler on mine last month, it has some good sound, but its not loud rice car sound......

It will sounds good at idle but under acceleration it sounds like a popcorn fart.

Ive just got a basic 30'' cherry bomb glass pack, it came with my truck and i really like it. It does sound nice but its not too loud and it doesnt draw any unwanted attention lol.

I put one on my 4runner about a month ago. I hate it. I have no cat. just the cherry bomb and a turn out in front of the rear tire. It sounds horrible, I'm taking it off and putting a stock muffler on it. At autozone the cherry bomb was $20 and the reg. muffler was like $30.

Put a cat and a full length exhaust on, you will like it..

I have a glasspack on my 3vz and I love it!

I have just a cherry bomb and no cat. Too loud for me. I am putting it on my 86 and taking the muffler from my 86 and putting it on my 91

Yeah, it doesn't sound right to me. Too loud and it doesn't fit the 4cyl.

i have a purple horney and i think it sounds better than a cherrybomb, with my headers it kinda sounds like a 4bt.

i have a cherry bomb on my 4runner and at 4k RPM if you rev it up it sounds like the rapid fire guns also pointing out i have no cat but the cherry bomb is first then the muffler, it is not loud and doesnt sound like a ricer but sounds good, and you can pull attention to your truck if you aer sitting there and rev it up.

not a big fan of glasspacks, or 40 series on a 2.4.


when i bought my truck it had no cat, 4 into 1 headers, and a 40 series into duals.
it sounded like complete rice crap. popcorn farting at every shift.

i replaced it from the headers back with an exhaust and hi flow cat from downey. it still sounds like crap, but its better then before. it still popcorns at most shifts, unless i clutch it just right.

i am considering installing the new hushpower mufflers from flowmaster. i am not sure how much quieter it will make my truck but its worth a try

i used to have one on my 87, sounded like one of those junky buggies from The Roadwarrior
now i run a 18" turbo muffler with a smokestack and it is real nice....

I have one and sounds fairly good. mine doesn't backfire unless it's running rich, But I have a cat
