Getting ready to do head gasket/timing chain 22R

Well folks, the time has come. My truck has been sucking up coolant like a sponge and I can definitely smell that "sweetness" in the exhaust. The oil has little milky spots too, so I guess it's time. The truck is an '87 and it's only got about 125k on the clock. I've ordered the engnbldr timing chain and steel guide, gasket set, and new valves/retainers/etc to rebuild the head. I'm gonna do some other maintenance while I'm at it, like replace some of the old vacuum lines and clean the EGR (anyone have any tips on this?). Just thought I would share, Yotatech has been a great resource. I'll try to take pics so as to hopefully help someone out in the future

Sorry about your early head gasket failure. Was the engine ever overheated?
