gear swap
I have an 89 toyota pickup with a 5 speed and v6. have gear code G292 i believe. which should be 4.10's. been at the yard and have seen a couple diffs with the code g254 so 4.556 gears and 4 pinion design. I assume mine is also 4 pinion since its a v6. anyways should i have any issues putting a complete 4.556 3rd in place of my stock 4.10's? both front and back diffs of course

thanks for all the replies, was pretty sure it would be fine, just wanted to make sure the housing would work especially with the 2 pinion vs 4 pinion deal. btw are the 4.556 gears desirable or are they too common to be worth anything? the yard has 3 sets and a sale coming up. could save them from the crusher and maybe make a little off them/ spare parts
thanks, i read that the v6's are almost always 4 pinion and if the door code says otherwise its a common missprint. not that i care too much since il be switching it out.
