gauge problems

Ok here is my problem and before you guys jump on me for not searching first, I only have phone internet and the search engine does not work. My gas and temp. Gushed come on when they want to but after they start to work they stay on till I cut off the truck. I don't think it is a ground issue because they would cut in and out but I could be wrong. If it helps it is an 86 with a 22r

I would check the wiring harness were it plugs into the back of the gauge cluster to make sure its plugged in tight, also check and tighten all of the screws and nuts on the back of the gauge cluster. Also check your grounds.
