gas smell from exhaust and poor idle when its hot outside.. HELP
I have a 91 toyota p/u 4x4. It has a 3.0 and a 5 speed tranny. My first question is about the gas smell for the exhaust. I thought at first it could be a leaky or rusted line but it smells to me like the smell is coming straight from the exhaust. I have heard that it could be the oxygen sensor but i have no check engine light on and they are expensive just to change and hope it works.....
Second is the fact that the hotter it gets outside the worse my idle gets.. It starts ok but unless i run the ac it idles at a couple hundred rpm's if it stays running.. Once again there is no engine light on so I wouldnt think it was a sensor but i could be wrong.. So any advice is much appreciated. If more info is needed just let me know.
