If you pull the fuel gauge sender out of your tank, the resistor probably looks like this:

Toyota doesn't sell the resistor by itself. You have to buy the whole sending unit from the dealer. Very pricey. I have fixed them by taking the resistor out of another unit and soldering it into the one I'm working on.
If you could find the exact wire this resistor was wound with, you could rewind it. You'd have to get the exact same wire, with the same diameter, composition, ohms per foot. I haven't found a source yet. |
