Gas door woes

I have the locking gas door and its starting to get a weird bent angle to it and doesn't open easily. Why do i see so many with the door missing? Is it a hinge issue? Any ideas how to issue? Can i put a regular flap on? It bugs me.

Post a pic on here. I'm kinda confused about what you're asking. Is the door itself bent, or the little arm that holds the door closed bent? All the doors are bent, but that's just so it conforms to the body.

Is it hard to open because of the key? The key doesn't turn in the lock? I had that same problem. All I did was spray some PB Blaster on the little spring that controls the latch. If that doesn't work, squirt some graphite lube in the lock cylinder.

The hinge on mine also squeaked like crazy and wasn't smooth, so all I did was spray some PB Blaster on the hinge and it's been fine ever since.

It opens fine using the interior release. It just doesnt want to open all the way and doesn't sit flush when shut. I've just seen so many missing the door that i wondered if the hinge bends and breaka so i only open it enough to get the nozzle in and dont push it. Its just one of the few ticky things that gets to me. Some PB Blast prob wouldnt hurt. Havent gotten around to making an album yet, doing all this on my phone.

Red face

Well things some times need to be adjusted and for sure lubricated .

I have never had issues except for rust.

so i took a closer look and the bottom hinge is bent, scared to pull on it because i dont want it to break. Just wondered if it was common.
