Fuel tank part name.

What is the cap that is in the center of the tank, right above the pump, and has the fuel line coming out of it, called?

I'm not having any luck describing what I'm looking for over the phone to the parts guy.

Thanks,

If this is a dealership, find a new parts guy. There is only two things on top of the yota tanks. A fuel pump housing and the Fuel level sender. I would be able to give you a part number but need more info on the truck. ie engine size, etc etc. Sorry to be blunt but the guy gets paid to look at diagrams like this:

It was a dealership and the guy did kind of seem "off". I've used this place before, best in the area really, and usually get a female who knows her stuff.

xxx, It's a 1993 4runner, manual trans and 3.0 v6.

A part number is greatly appreciated.

I come up with two. Not sure if yours is a VZN100 or VZN110 chassis.
EDIT: Ignore the second photo I posted, those are for the 4cyl trucks.

23206A BRACKET, FUEL PUMP 23206-35250 1992.02-1995.01 3VZE.. VZN100 $162.56

23206A BRACKET, FUEL PUMP 23206-35260 1993.03-1995.01 3VZE.. VZN110 $139.59

or this one if yours isn't listed in one of the above.

I don't know where you are from but found this on CL: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/2371370312.html

His price is a little out of line as far as online prices goes. And this is the one for the VZN100.

Yes a vin would help. PM it to me though. But it might also be listed on your VIN plate.

It's amazing how little these dealership parts counter guys know, yet, I cannot get a job in one to save my life. lol.

Where it says model, I believe it should be the first 6 digits.

I take it the brackets are not interchangeable between the non 31" truck and the 31" truck?

Do I trust the door sticker to tell me whether or not the runner came with 31"s?

it either came with 235/75R15 tires or 31x10.50R15 tires from the factory. If your not sure, look on the vin plate use the above vin plate pic as a reference. It might still say 235/75R15 by mistake, so look at the AXLE CODE.

If it was 225's the gear code should be G294 if it came with 31's then the code might be G254 or G144.

Let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks for all the help. If I remember right, from another question I've asked, it had the gear code for 4.33's.

I'm at work, so I can't run out and check the actuall plates.

You mean 4.30's? That's odd that's a code for an auto trans, you have a manual trans which would be 4.10's. Which would be for the 235 tires.

the 31 tires either got a 4.56 or 4.88 depending on if it had the tow package.

Now what I am not sure of is if these got 4.30's with a manual trans and tow package, if that were even an option.

Yea, 4.30s. Sorry about that. I haven't gotten the chance to do the wheel turn thing to verify gear ratio, but that's what the sticker says.

I do know that once I put 31s on it, it did not feel underpowered like one would think.

It might have been. It looks like someone cut off a trailer hook up in the back. I just assumed it was after market. Never really thought off Toyota offering a tow package.

hmmm, I wonder. Never heard of a 4.30 in a manual trans truck, but the vin checks out it was originally a manual trans and has not been swapped from an auto. In either case, double check the axle code, but my feeling is 23206-35280 is the correct part number for ya.

Thank-you very much. I'll check the axle this weekend. I was hoping to get it on the road finally, but I'm not paying dealer price for that part.

You might have to, I don't believe there is any aftermarket alternatives, but I could be wrong.
