Fuel sending unit

I am getting ready to replace the fuel sending unit ($181.17) Toyota OEM. I have seen a lot of threads for the unit, but is there any thing I should do while I have the tank off. I was thinking of replacing the fuel lines as well, I am sure after 25 years its time.

Your suggestions would be appreciated!

I cleaned the tank inside & out & replaced the rubber lines. Also a good time to paint it if your inclined.

Since you have a carbed engine you don`t have to worry about braking the lines on the fuel pump bracket.

just give the outside a good cleaning maybe paint it again

Have you priced the sender from 1sttoyotaparts.com?

If you want to do the full tank restore, I've read good reports from this kit:
