Fuel pump keep the old or get new?
Just got my injectors back from RC. Man they look and feel knew. So I looked through the access hole behind the passenger seat. By the way she's an '87 4Runner 4x4 SR5. The tank was filled with rust. OMG, Rust. Took the tank home pressured washed it and got 95% of the rust out (sweet). Question is: the fuel pump has surface rust but still works. Should I keep the stock one or replace it with an after market one. The engine is stock. By the way if anyone has a non-rusted fuel bracket I really need one. I will continue restoring the tank with Red-Kote tank sealer .

you should treat your tank walls to keep the rust from being picked up

dude you already have it out, the old one has seen its limit, almost, why not throw in a 60 dollar pump and have some peace of mind, kind of a no brainer if you ask me, you dont want it going out on you with a full tank of fuel after you already re installed the tank

Found one on amazon for $113 shipped for a Denso. You might wanna double check the part number on the Denso website though since I didnt know your exact specs

I finally got the tank treated with Por-15. Many of my friends suggested it over red-Kote. It's been 24 hours since I did it, tank looks great inside. I will post a pic of the tank. Por-15 has many products that I was unaware of. Chassis paint that can be applied right over rust and completely stop it from rusting any further.
