fuel pump fuse trips when I check error codes.
87 4runner 22re. I'm trying to check my error codes and whenever I jump the diagnostic interface it trips the fuse the controls the fuel pump in the driver's kick panel.
Any ideas on this? The truck is running well but I get an intermittent CEL. This is a fresh build and I am hoping diagnostics will help me dial everything in.
Thanks for looking

My son has a 91 22RE that kept intermittently blowing the EFI fuse. Ended up being the wire to the O2 sensor was intermittently touching the exhaust. It was melted and had exposed wires from touching the pipe.
Just something to check.

Wrong one. E1 to TE1. Use a paperclip instead. The blue wire is just what I had handy.
Copied...

How to get Check Engine Codes. I just put this up for others. Applies to 87 and up. 86 and older is the bottom picture.
The Diagnostic port for the 85-86 is on the Drivers side inner fender and is nothing the same as the 87 and up. Here is T1 and E1 jumped. The codes and engine flashes are the same as the rest of the trucks on the dash.
