Hey all. Well I need to replace the fuel pump on 94 V6 4x4 Pickup. It went out right when I was trying to sell it. How convenient.

Anyways, I thought taking the bed off the truck would be easiest but there's one nut I absolutely can't get. Even my special cut sockets for rusted nuts and bolts won't grab it. Although even with the other 5 nuts off the bed doesn't seem loose. I'm probably missing something. Any idea what? I don't see anything else besides the six nuts. 2 in front of the tire each side and one behind.

So I resort to dropping the tank. Which sucks. I got the guard off fine. I got the front 3 bolts off fine. I got 2 of 3 the back bolts off fine. But one is stripped. I swear. It just spins and spins. I could cry. Any ideas how to get this. I tried pulling down on the bracket while ratcheting it but it didn't catch.
I don't seem to have enough room to maneuver to try and snap it.

Also, is there a DIY for fuel pump? I searched and couldn't find one. I don't want to break any lines etc if I can avoid it. I just want to get this fixed with minimal hassle so I can sell it. Don't worry. I'll get another Yota truck. I just want the 22re again.

No write up really, just drop tank pull pump braket swap and done...look through the fsm if you have to..

A transmission jack is your best friend to drop the fuel tank, full or empty. Rent one or buy a cheap one from Pep Boys. I get my tank out in about 10 minutes from start to finish, no hassles. Removing the bed to get to the fuel tank is kind of like pulling the engine to change the spark plugs.

Well I got it down and back up with 2 jack stands and a jack.

But now I just blew 3 EFI fuses in a row. F. Any ideas?

check the circuit opening relay. it's on the passengerside kick panel, by the ECU.

in the wire harness it's between the EFI fuse and the fuel pump.



as you can see, mine was a little rotted out
