There is a panel but only for disconnecting the hose and electrical plug! But I still have not been able to figure the thing out! I got it all put back together and its sending fuel to the filter but not the motor?

I tried that, evidently i wasnt getting fuel to the filter it was just left over in the line... After I changed the filter I tried again without any luck, Im guessing the pump was just faulty. So I'm taking it back out tomorrow!

Why did you drop the tank in the first place? Just to change the fuel pump sock? Btw that is not the fuel filter.
If it was working before, and now it is not working, there is something else going on. Check fuses, and other potential issues before dropping the tank again. You can also jump B+ and Fp in the diagnostic box, and if the pump is working fuel should pump.

I dropped the tank to change the fuel pump... I jumped B+ and Fp today and that didnt help any, does this mean it is the fuel pump? Im taking the tank down again to test the old one and see if that gets it started as the old one hadn't gone out completely. If that gets it going again, I'm off to take the new one back get my money back then going to NAPA!

I bet its the wiring to the pump now. Either outside the tank or inside or the pass through the tank lid. 20 year old wiring and a struggle to get the tank back in, but that's just a guess.

the struggle was only because it was geting jammed on the drive shaft... how could i test the wiring? and what exactly does the sending unit do?

Digital multimeter (DMM), check the voltage at the connector. I'd start with the connector outside the tank, see if there is power getting to there. If not, work your way back up line. If so, check the wiring the other direction, I'd probably check the resistance of the positive and neg wires going to the pump through the tank lid at that point.

Thanks James, That is in the FSM i Already downloaded though. It didnt do much help... I don't really understand the wiring diagram. But I have a mechanic on the way... I'm really hoping its not a wiring problem

I decided the wiring on my 93 was a weak point and ran new wiring to the FP. I used the old wiring to trigger a relay which has direct 12 gauge leads to the battery and ground point. Fuel pumps are very voltage dependent, and the tiny wires Toyota used for the FP were probably marginal when new, add on 20 years of deterioration and you have IMHO a weakness in power supply to the FP.
