fuel issue

Took my 86 4x4 mudding the other day for the first time. On the way home it became very sluggish. Can still hit almost 3000 rmp in 4 th gear and rpm remains conistant but the motor feels half powered. I cleaned the mafm and changed the vehicles computer(i was getting 11 blinks,pause,11 blinks .... from check engine light but this didnt fix the problem. I poured gas on a rag and covered the ntake which made the truck run fine. Being that it was a fuel issue i dopped the tank, fuel pump and filter look fine with clean gas. As hoses and filters are new.... any suggestions?

Just checked fuel pressure and its right at 42psi while giving it gas. What else would starve the fuel? Anyway to te, porarily bypass the tps?
