FSM question

I know that I have talked with some of you in the forum chat and also through PM, about the my upcoming 3.4. swap. As some of you know I am in the military and I am currently deployed to the middle east and have very very limited access to websites.

I was able to download a FSM for a 90-95 4runner. Does anyone know if the ECU wiring will be the same for a 90 Pick-up. I want to edjimikate myslef as much a possible, before I actually start this swap. I relize that the 4rnr will have some different connections, like the rear window, and so forth. I am mostly concerned about the body harness for the engine swap. Thanks in advance!!!

Jeremy

This where I was able to get the FSM http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/index.html I belvie it is the second one

My ShopKey shows the same schematic for the V6 Pickup and V6 Runner. All the colors are the same, according to it. And it's two different schematic reference numbers - so I don't think it's a mistake by Shopkey.

First thanks for your service Jeremy. Keep your head down when your out playing in the sandbox.
The 3.4s were installed in the 96 and up runners/tacomas so what you need to do is download an FSM for one of them and then pull up the wiring schematics for both and do a comparison. There is a stickied thread here in the maintenance section with access to almost all the FSMs available or at least a representative grouping.

There will be some differences the 3.0s are all OBD1 engines and the 3.4s are OBD2 so there will be a lot more sensors and such on the 3.4 you'll need a 3.4 ECU as well when you start your swap.
There are a lot of threads here on that topic several members have done it or are doing it as we speak.
Good luck and stay safe

Thanks Aviator,

Yeah I have been doing alot of reading on this swap. It is alot harder over here because almost ever site that is referenced is blocked. Just about every picture in the threads are blocked due to photobucket being the host. Can't veiw any pictures to see what other are talking about. Also trying to get a good stock list of the deffinate parts that I will need. So as soon as I get home... boo-bam.. I take my ars the parts store and get this ball rolling.

Thanks agian for the input and please if anyone else has any, let me know. I have read the threads in the 3.4 section, I am there on a hourly basis to see if there are any new posts.

Laterz

Thanks for the offer, but I am currently dealing with a guy a little bit closer to home.
