Front Rubbing Sound

Greetings,

I need help in addressing a loud, front driver side rubbing sound. It occurs randomly at low speeds and frequently at speeds over 40 mph. My mechanic cannot figure out what it is. He has heard it while driving and cannot get it to happen on the lift. It gets louder and faster with more speed, and still makes sound in neutral. Does not seem to hinder steering. Any ideas would be great.

Thanx.

What he means is what kind of vehicle are you talking about? Year, model, engine, transmission, 2 or 4wd?

It could be the plastic(?) piece that goes in between the frame and body or another plastic piece inside the fenderwell that is loose and hits the tire.It may take quite a bit of airflow hence the rubbing while over 40mph.

Huffy or Schwinn?

Might be that plastic piece in between the tire and inner fender. It hides the engine from veiw and may be loose enough that it gets pushed into the tire by the wind.
