Front End Vibration
A front end vibration has developed in my 92 4runner. After installing SDORI spacers/OME front shocks and the rear SDORI spacer, my vehicle drove fine. Aside from the new steering feel, there was nothing particularly different with the driving characteristics. Roughly two weeks after the install, out of curiosity, I drove the vehicle up and down a moderate rocky hill. Nothing too extreme, but enough to have torn an inner boot. The truck was driven 1/4 mile home and parked for a couple of weeks before taking it to the shop to get the boot repaired. Pulling out of the driveway, the truck's front end developed a considerable amount of vibration. The tires are balanced and the steering components are relatively new. I can only imagine this is a front driveshaft / input shaft vibration issue. Does anyone have any ideas or similar experience? Thanks for the help.

possibly u joints. mine was vibrating too once and making a loud rumbling noise. looked under truck and u joint were shot. when you replaced the front end componets did you get a front end alignment?

I have only replaced the rear ujoints. Found it a little bizarre that the vibration showed up when it did.
I have the stock ADD hubs. I am currently looking for a set of manuals....if anyone knows of a set, please let me know.
front end alignment was done imediately after the BJ spacer install. shop had difficulty alligning and got it as best as they could. no wobble in the steering wheel present.

Check Craigslist for the hubs. They're for sale on there all the time around here. Picked up an extra SA set for my rig for 50 bucks.
x2 on the u-joints. Either that or your torn boot ate some rocks and your CV went bad. The CV is kind of unlikely driven that short of a distance. But it wouldn't hurt to get under there and see if it's got some play in it. Did it look alright when you replaced the boot?

This may be a stupid question but did you check to see if the tires would spin freely when the suspension was bottomed out? To check it jack it up and spin the tires by hand, if they grab you will need to reduce the size of the spacers or put in a diff drop.
I put the spacers in and had one side bind on me when testing it, had to drop the front diff about an inch, not a big deal to do but if you don't you can destroy your front axles. If you didn't check it I am willing to bet this is the problem, you probably didn't put much stress on the rig as a whole but the driveline angles up front wont take a lot with the spacers in. Jack it up and see if you get any binding...
