Freeze plug locations on the 3.0 slow.......
In the last 6 weeks I've replaced my water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, timing belt idler, front crankshaft seal, all camshaft seals, re-built my
power steering pump. and fixed the leak in my A/C.
Now that I fixed all the leaks as of last weekend. Of course another has popped up!!
I have a coolant leak on the passenger side of the engine. Near the front of
the engine. Seems to be right above my A/C compressor. Can't see it. But can hear it when the engine is very hot. (it's not condensation from the A/C).
I'm praying it a freeze plug. Just had the head gaskets redone 2 years and less than 15K ago. Even had the heads milled.
Can someone tell me if there is a freeze plug in that location? Or am I doomed once again to do a head gasket AGAIN?
Thanks

They're on the sides of the block. They're copper (colored), cylindrical inserts. Pretty difficult to miss
How can you HEAR the leak?
Picture time!!
See the three circles towards the top of the blue block?
Passenger side:
The copper circles

I don't know......but I have a hard time seeing through my A/C Compressor, and the Exhaust Manifold, and all the hoses. And I'm pretty sure my freeze plugs are not
shinny cooper anymore.
And I could heard it "hissing" when I popped the hood when I got home the other day. After being on a bumber to bumber freeway for the last 4 miles home. 96 degrees and the A/C on. The engine was a little warm.
I'm pretty sure it that front freeze plug. It won't be fun to get at. But at least it won't
be a complete tear down.
Thanks for the pic's! I could find a ton of stuff and pictures about the freeze plugs on the back of the engine. But nothing on the side of the block.
