Fixing e-brake cable
My parking brake cable has broken at the handle. I don't want to replace it if it can be fixed, and I've heard of people fixing it with a u-bolt clamp or something like that. How is this done?
Also, as a side question, will a broken parking brake prevent businesses from installing new tires? I'm getting new tires in a few days and I forgot to ask them this.

You can get a replacement cable from rockauto for a fraction of the stealership cost, why not go that route instead? The fix you are asking about doesn't seem that viable, especially since the cable hooks into the end of the handle, I don't see how a u-bolt clamp would fit.

Yeah, I too am not keen on it being cold while fixing my parking brake cables and am holding off the repairs needed until spring. Unfortunately for me the only one that went in easy was the front cable, the two rear cables (2wd has 3 cables) can't go on until I weld some new brackets under my cab to replace the completely mangled ones. Not to mention the equalizer arm, rod, and nut are rusted to hell and back, which is gonna be fun replacing.

46420-35500 I think, on rockauto they have a DORMAN Part #C94794 that says it's for 89-95 pickups. Just do a part number search for "*35500" and you should find it. It'll run you about $40 before shipping.
e: toyodiy.com is great for finding part numbers btw.
