First Fuel Filter Problem
My truck started losing power, and would bog down when accelerating. I thought TPS, and went ahead and replaced it because it had 260K on it.
The problem persisted, I checked everything from water temp sensor to MAF, and O2 sensor, and even ohmed the new plug wires. I bought the truck with 248K on it.
I checked my file and noticed I had never replaced the fuel filter. I bought a $18 wix fuel filter, and problem solved. Nothing but dirt poured out of the old filter.
My next thing will be to send the fuel injectors to Witch guy so they can clean them!

Just some preventive maintenance advise. Drop your tank, pull out your fuel pump, and look inside the tank. I've got an 89 DLX also and found an incredible amount of rust inside the tank. Had it cleaned by a radiator shop but was not pleased with the result so, new tank on the way...
I ordered the Spectra PN TO9D tank. Google the PN and you should find multiple sources and prices. Found mine for $136.00 + shipping.
