Finally gonna get a runner...

Got my loan, paid my bills, and the leftovers go towards a truck. Thanks to craigshelper.com, I managed to find a 4runner in the midwest that was worth buying.

Here it is...
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/car/572064042.html

The thing looks real clean, and with a new motor, rebuilt trans/clutch, and little to no rust, it is just what a wanted (sans a solid front axle of course.)

Gonna be talking with the guy about ti, and hopefully when I can pay for it and pick it up. Please everyone, let me know what you think. And if it really is as good as it looks/sounds/seems, wish me luck in getting it.

First of all thats the most pictures I have ever seen on craigslist lol. And second of all it looks really good, either really good photography or there isn't any rust which is amazing because he lived in a place where it snows...

well it's official. I'm gonna get the truck. Pics aren't online anymore, but man is it clean. He sent me a few more of the underbody and engine compartment. Wow, I am stoked. I decided to, since I can't just hop over to Cincinnati and check it out, have him take it to a Toyota dealership and have them do a quality vehicle inspection. Worth the money I figure for a vehicle I can't check out in person and seems almost too good to be true.

Thanks too to the few other Yotatech members who contacted me about selling their trucks. All of your runners looked like they would look good in my driveway, but I only could choose one.

So anywhoo...I'm just thinking about some little things I'm going to want to do to my truck once I get it. A small lift in the near future is going to happen, and since it is IFS, a decent BJ spacer is what I had in mind. 1.5" seems to be the norm, and I've seen a couple decent sources (SDORI being the only one that comes to mind.) I'm curious what sort of rear susp. work Iwill need to do to level the truck out. AAL? Full rear pack? Bastard pack? What are you all doing to your IFS front/Leaved rears trucks to even the lift heights? Don't want to spend tons of $$, and I haven't found new wheels/tires yet, but I'm just thinking in advance. Thanks all!

Oh, and if anyone knows where I can get replacement covers for the interior quarter-panel storage spaces, let me know. PO got rid of his. I also need stock gauges, but I figured eBay would be the easiest for that (maybe the covers too...)

Well owner finally found a time to take the truck in for a vehicle inspection at his local toyota dealership (kingstoyota.com) in Cincinnati. They were supposed to fax me over the results/report, but they didn't. Why? Because they had nothing to report on. The lead mechanic there said that when he looked over it, he found nothing that was out of order, that the vehicle was extremely well maintained, and if I was really going to go through with the sale, that I would be getting a good vehicle. Awesome! Ordering a bus ticket this weekend so I can get down there! I'm so excited. PIcs will be posted when I get it.

Congrats! The craigslist link has been deleted, so I have no idea what you're getting (year, equipment, etc.), and I don't know where you're bussing to Cincy from, so all I can really say is best of luck to you and post lots of pics when you're able. It's always exciting getting a vehicle that you've been looking for for a long time.
