Few headgasket probs

Ok I've been working on tearing my motor apart to replace the head gasket and rebuild the head... 2 questions. Anyone have any suggestions for breaking head bolts loose, all but 3 of mine broke loose, Im not gonna loosen up the others anymore till I break the last 3 loose, I have a breaker bar with a pipe on the end and the pipe itself is bending, Any ideas. I cant get the intake off, That EGR and tube (I think) are in the way of the way of the back bolts on the intake, and I cant get that egr off, Is it cause of my body lift that I cant get to them? Any ideas or hints?

Its a pain in the @**

I am assuming you are running a 22re motor. When i blew my head gasaget i blew 2 cyclenders then managed to drive it home very hot. It helped to make head bolts easy to remove. I used a heavy water pipe and no problem with the bolts. Be careful nothing worse than breaking a head bolt. There are at least 2 bolts on the bottom of the intake that are touch and feel bolts if you are able to remove the top half of the intake where is bends own to the block it makes it very easy, that is what i did it but it helps to remove vacuum lines ect. If you do break a head bolt dont use a easy out its never easy. A good welder can weld a stainless steel(i think) rod to the broken bolt to remove it the rod should not stick to cast iron. My dad had a similar process done to remove a broken exhaust stud from a 460 cast iron head.

I leave the lower intake on when removing the head . You might try a little tapping on the head bolt as you're trying to loossen , sometimes if it's real tough I'll tighten it a hair and tap on it with a nice ballpeen. It works.

Well from what I've been told you can leave the carb on when removing the intake but no luck yet, I got a 1/2 drive breaker bar and a good 6 point socket Im gonna try on the head some more
