Fan shroud build and... Don't buy the Spectra CU50 radiator for your 3vze!!!
I did a little comparing of the Spectra CU50 and the CFS 2506 and I found quite a difference in area. The Spectra uses two large tubes vs the CFS which uses three smaller tubes, but the thickness or depth of the core is roughly 3/8 deeper on the CFS. Both cores measure about 18.5 inches in height, but in width the CFS core is a full inch wider. So between the added core depth and the extra 18.5 sq inches... that's a lot of extra surface area that the CFS has over the Spectra. Just something to think about for those of you who are needing a new radiator and thinking about saving a few dollars with the cheap Spectra... they are NOT the same. I never got the Spectra to cool properly.
Enough of that... So below is the new fan shroud I built for the 3.0. It's 1/16" thick- 1-1/2 wide aluminum angle for the frame with a 1/32" thick piece of sheet metal as the face. All riveted together with 3/16" aluminum pop rivets. The fan I'm running is a slimline 16" fan from Zirgo (IIRC) set up in a "puller" configuration.

Shroud looks sweet, do you have your fan on a thermostat switch? I have been thinking about doing this to my 22re due to the power loss but haven't done a lot of research yet, as far as what running temp is etc. Did you have a noticeable difference as far as power goes?

Sweet, I'm going to start searching threads today, I know hundreds exist I have not upgraded my alternator so I'm not sure how much draw I'm looking at or the size and cfm etc.

I doubt you'd need to upgrade your alternator. Most of the fans I looked at were in the 10-15 amp draw range. Unless of course you plan on adding a bunch of other accessories that draw juice, just saying for the fan itself the added load should be able to be handled with the stock alternator.
Size wise I'd go for the biggest electric fan you can stuff in there and then make sure it's shrouded. The shroud makes a HUGE difference in the performance. I had an increase in the temp drop across the radiator by an additional 15* with the shroud. Also, I'd strongly suggest setting up as a "puller" fan.
As a side note, I found ebay has some amazing deals on electric fans. I didn't buy one because I used one I already had. I can't speak for quality or longevity, but dang if the ones on ebay aren't 1/2 the price I paid for mine.

The only lights I have are some PIAA's which I never use much, other than that I have done a full led conversion including headlights, so with an electric fan I should be close to what I was with total draw but I know the fan takes more amps than anything else.
