Alright, This basically came to me in a day dream...
Its simple.
And kinda haggard but I have a system, and plenty of crap in my truck i dont want to get ripped off.
Quick trip to ace hardware netted me.
All thread
2 C clamp things, I dont recall what exactly they are called but my parents new bed frame came with some...
2 wing nuts and 2 hex nuts and a can of black spray.
The wing nuts are so i can quickly remove it.
And that size all thread was the biggest that would fit, I didnt have the drill at the time or I would have drilled out the hole to fit a bigger thing of all thread in it.
There ya go.

Maybe later tonight abe...
And coug, thanks for the info.
I dont really trust the latches anyway.
So even if It still latched, something like what I have on there now would be there anyway.
I think I do need some bigger allthread though, but it gets the job done

a lot of the aftermarket windows are aluminum frames and rivets. eventually, the rivet breaks or bends and the latch won't work. depending on how bad it is, you may be able to re-rivet it.

on mine, the latch attaches to the frame with screws. You could remove it..
