Exhaust leaks... new header
God I hate to ask this and sound like a freaking rookie but are the connections on the LCE header (between the header and pipe and the pipe and cat) weldable? Is that even a word?
Anyway I have two small leaks (new pipe makes them easy to spot) and if I crank down on the clamps anymore I'm going to crush something. I'm hoping to hit the local place, guy likes cash, and get the seams welded but the pipe is so clean and looks different than other exhaust pipe I've seen that I'm a little unsure.
Don't flame if you can help it.
edit: I'm not sure what the metal is and need to know if it's going to require some expensive nickel rod with an atomic hydrogen gas feed and Jesus flux to weld it. If it's going to cost me more to get it welded than the header kit cost then I'll just enjoy the leaks.

Of the header? I posted those a while back.
Your ego when I out wheel your butt.
Thanks Abe. And thanks for not flaming me, I know I ask some stupid stuff every now and then. Do I need to pull the O2 sensor when the welds are being done?

Shouldn't need to: if you're worried about arc welding damaging it, just unplug it from the harness. But even then, the exhaust piping is usually fairly well grounded through the bolts and such up to the head, and any welder that doesn't clamp his ground close to the weld isn't thinking well.
And why would I flame you?

I'm confused, is the like in your brand new super expensive LCE header? If say I've read this right and the leak is in this said expensice header from a company that is not known for their super warraunties And your welding on it is going to get them to honor more readily? I'd take pics and email LCE with a Big WTF on an expensive header. After all when you pay LCE prices I expect it to fit correctly, be superior quality and last for a long time.
If I am confused and this is on another part of the exhaust weld it up.
Oh Yeah DOUG THORLEY headers ROCK!!!!!!

It runs pretty darn good! I actually lost a little hesitation that I had after the Supra mod. The engine breathes a lot better than it did before.

I had the clamp on joints welded when we had the new cat and muffler installed. Did not like the looks of LC's clamped connections. Once welded, the shop hit all the welded joints with a high temp paint that matches the LC Engr header / tail pipe.

I've heard that kind of talk about LCE before. I guess their reputation precedes them
And, BTW, what happened to Downey Off Road? I was like this close " || " to buying their header and exhaust setup.
