engine will not stay running after starting , cel code 14
I have a 93 22re 4x4 that has always had an issue of randomly cutting out while driving (making for a very jerky ride) it would also happen while idling .
it would only last a second or 2 and go back to acting normal.
( my thread on the cutting out problems I was having https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-22-re-272925/ )
The problem seemed to go away completely on its own for a few months untill one day it would not start .
That brings it to now.
What it does is startup fine but dies immediately everysingle time within less that a second or two.
I replaced fuel pump , fuel filter , plugs, wires, cap, rotor, igniter and coil. Nothing helped...
I have a cel code of 14 :
IGNITION SIGNAL--NO "IGF" SIGNAL TO ECU
--IGNITER/IGNITER CIRCUIT
--IGNITER AND IGNITION COIL/CIRCUIT
That's why I replaced the coil and igniter. But still have code and won't run.
I think it's just starting off the cold start injector and then dying cause engine isn't getting fuel for some reason and I know it is because I jumpered the test plug for fuel pump and can hear fuel moving in engine bay....
I'm really at a loss with it and it is my daily driver so please help. It will be greatly appreciated !!

"Open or short in IGF or IGT circuit from igniter to ECM"

While replacing the igniter sometimes cures that problem, your problem is probably in the "circuit," meaning the wires from the igniter to the ecm.
My schematic shows the IGF wire as Black/Yellow, IGT as Black/Blue, if that helps.

I tested continuity between the igniter side and the computer side they have continuity but also continuity to ground.... I didnt know if that was right or thats the whole problem.

No , it's all stock as far as I can tell , And haven't done any repairs to it. Only thing I can think that might have caused it was it happened while at the riverbar and mabey all the vibration caused it. But it also started up and ran enough for me to almost make it home..... It was backfiring and cutting out really bad before it gave up a few miles from home.

Problem was fixed.
the wiring harness was squeezed between the firewall and the head.
it either melted a little or was worn down , but there was a tiny 1/8'' short where the insulation on two of the ignition wires was gone. little bit of electrical tape and it fired right up and has been running great.
