Engine\tranny removal Question...

Hello All,

I need to remove a engine from a 91 4runner(auto V6), , and install to a 90 pick-up 4x4(5spd V6)

My question is, can I remove the engine with the transmission still attached? It is an auto & 4x4... I heard it is easier to remove with they still are together.

Questions 2, The 4runner is a roll over, it was running great before the accident, because of the roll over.. will that do any harm to the engine?

Thanks

It wont hurt anything but I find it easier to do them seperately unless you cut off the front clip(being a parts truck)

hmmm... since the finders are cut, i might as well cut the front...

Will anything be in the way, like the front diff?

What I'm hoping is that when I have disconnected the engine and the tranny from the truck, and than slide them out in 1 piece without anything like the front Diff on the way ..

I would separate the two. unless you are going to put the truck on a lift, the t-case will drag when you go to angle the combo out.

The front diff clearances are pretty tight too. the frame narrows as you get toward the front, PITA I think

you can remove as a whole. if you have a strong friend or your stong and have another person o help that would be optimal and easier for you. also to help take the fron tires off and lower the front end as much as possible. to make it hat much easier i would remove the t/c though and if you remove the t/c you might as well just remove the whole tranny first. you can do it either way
