From a 22re, yes. From a 3.0, not that I know of.
Some guys over on Marlin's site have done it.

i was actually thinking it would be BAD A to put a 2.7 in my truck
for my dads 99 runner with the 2.7 its not a hot rod, but the five speed does its justice

From the impression I get from reading threads over the years from 2.7 liter owners is the 2.7 is basically a 22RE on roids, AND the end/supreme result of everything Toyota learned from the 22RE. The 2.7 has a timing chain but to the best of my knowledge doesn't have timing chain guide issues like the 22RE. I realize there are many more 22RE's out there with higher miles, but I don't hear of any 2.7's blowing head gaskets like the 22RE's do. Also, do you need to adjust the valves on a 2.7 as often as you need to on the 22RE? Also the 2.7 has more power and torque, as well as it has a more efficient dual overhead cam set up. The 2.7 Liter also comes with a better stock manual transmission and if I'm not mistaken (please correct me if I'm wrong) it's from the R150 series, essentially/roughly the same transmission family/series found behind the 3vze (3.0 V6), and the 5vz-fe (3.4 V6).

Here's a quote from Big Mike about the swap from a 22 to a 3RZ-FE:
Hello to all,
Well, the time has come. The time for power, the time for fuel relief, the time for 5th gear on the highway at 80 MPH+ uphill...
Marlin has had a 1996 T100 2.7l 3RZ-FE engine sitting at the shop since spring of '04, and I've finally gotten the "OK" to start on The Swap
Angelo told me last week that I could pull Marlin's aging 20R/22R-MAR Hybrid engine and begin the swap starting in August, and as some of you know, Marlin's engine convientely lost a piston this last weekend. So out with the underpowered-old, in with the superpowered-new!
