engine swap now clutch wont dissengage

Like the title says i swapped out and engine (22re) and also transmission, they were not hooked up together when installed in the truck, all swap is done i went to try it out and clutch will not dissengagei can't get it in to gear without it grinding/move, i tried adjusting on the peddal inside the cab, it did nothing and the cylinder is working properly, i compared the fork movement to one of my budy's yota and even he has less fork movement then i do.

the only thing i can see that would have gone wrong is the throwout bearing is installed backwards, could this be the problem?

how sure are you that the clutch disk is put in right? did you try spinning the transmission by hand before installing?

both engine and transmission where from another toyota i had on the road about 3 years ago, they were in good shape and had a complete clutch kit less than 10,000km ago. the only thing the transmission had been left outside in the rain for a few weeks and their was a bit of rust on theclutch... And like i said, the throwout bearing might havefallen out and i might have not put it on backwards if its possible

Might be throw out. I got a clutch job done once and they used the wrong throw out bearing so after a little wear it stopped dissengaging. Only worked for 15k miles. Warranty was for 14k miles. I think they planed it. lol.

disconnect the rear driveline and try to cylce and run the gears in the transmission.
Gears might be a little stuck from sitting for a while.

It should sit in front of the fork. The Spring clips hold onto the back side of the fork.

alright then, im pretty sure thats my problem i got the clips on and evrything i dont know how lol,but i will have to take the transmission back off and check that out, im 90% sure that's the problem from the pictures i been looking at i did not install it right, like i said the fork is pretty much inside the bearing and not completely infront of it.

just a thought, if i pull the clutch cylinder off on the transmission, would it be enough to move the fork around to set it behind the bearing or am i asking for trouble with the clips still in place that will most likely fall off in the bell housing, if this is even possible...

I did a trans swap with a buddy one time on his 22RE 85 4WD/ W56..... (same scary crap happened to me>>) On a test drive of the new trans; We pulled up to a light.... Stopped.... He had it in 1st, just before HE THOUGHT the light was changing.... but it didn't change, and the truck suddenly lurched into the intersection. IT WOULD NOT come out of gear, so JUST IN TIME, I killed the IGN/pulled the key... Was it a total coincidence that the Clutch Slave went out that very day(Hmm...maybe not a total coincidence, as we added a fresh new clutch as well... Maybe it was just too much for the old tired slave cyl? not sure). ANYWHOOOOO, the reason I mention this is also due to the fact that once we got it FORCED out of gear... IT WOULD NOT go back into gear. Ran to Napa, picked up and Altrom and voila, solved. But, .... NOT LIKELY your issue, as you said "cyl is fine" you meant clutch master or slave?(???) .....

Here's how it goes. Right when I was about to install the SECOND rebuilt motor in 2 years hahaha.>>>

Which portion did you have in the back>>>>

Hard to imagine how to set it up with the spring/clips, etc., backwards, without noticing... But CRAZIER things have happened!(ask me how I know? lol)

lol well its pretty simple i put the fork inbetween the "ears" i guess you could call them and the bearing part its self, i dono how it fit but it looked right to me at the time and clips fit fine since i guess it was the same thickiness but the fork was infront of the ears instead of behind.

I shoulda checked this out a lil more lol, ive done a thew 22re swaps before and clutch job i can't even understand how i could f*** up this bad lol
