So, i just bought a 1990 Toyota 4x4 pickup Hilux 3.0L v6, and a few weeks ago it started ticking. The engine when you rev it uo, will make a ticking noise when it is deaccelerating. Almost like a rod is gonna blow. But the temp. gauge inside the truck says it's overheating and is all the way up in the red zone of the gauge. I've replaced the thermostat to see if that might fix the problem, but it hasn't.

What are some other problems that it could have that would need to be fixed? Also any advice on just the truck or engine
