Unhappy Engine has no power

I have a 1987 Toyota truck 4x4 that's fuel injected. About 2 years ago we thought we had a blown head gasket long story short the head had 2 cracks in it. We put a head on from another engine we had (not sure what year that engine is). Put everything back together with all new parts. It fired up first try and thought everything was good but it has no power. Going up a hill it's lucky to go 20 mph. Took it to a friends shop and he adjusted the valves and its a little better it's definetly not running the way it use to. We adjusted the timing cause it was idling high but it's still too high at idle. It seems to run rich on fuel also and it sucks gas like you wouldn't believe. O2 sensor prob needs to be replaced but it shouldnt suck gas as bad as it is. It goes about 100 miles or less on a tank. Has a custom exhaust on it so there is no chance of a clogged cat. Any help/advise anyone can give would be much appreciated. Thanks

o2 sensor bad
blown fuses
ECT out of range/bad
Could be lots of things.
Did you get the timing a tooth off on the timing chain?
any vacuum leaks?
any leaks around gaskets?

x2 on the timing,I bought a 86 that the po had installed the distributor wrong and it would hardly pull a hill in 2nd, and after resetting the distributor it pulled the same hill in 4th. He had driven it this way for 6 months and the odd thing is he installed the timing chain correctly but got the distributor wrong.
