Engine build Q's

Please bear with me guys,I am having alot of problems with my searches namely my key words never come up with anything. So,I am thinking of doing my first engine build as a learning experience and also as a replacement for my 86 22re when the clock finally runs out on it.Just replaced the head gasket at 225k. Im wondering what the cost would be also a list of parts. I would also like to know where to get a block, and if engnbldr is the only way to go for said parts,I know alot of guys on here swear by those parts.Any information would be helpful especially links, but would settle for some advice on my searching.

as far as searching goes I do it 2 ways:

one would be to use the search and click "show posts", rather than "show threads"

the other, is to use google, with your certain key words and also put YOTATECH

Search 22r rebuild for some good ideas on cost and time. I am finishing up a full rebuild and I'm about 1500 into it. That's some performance and quite a bit Toyota oem parts. Engnbldr is better known for customer service then for quality. Their prices are really good but its not very high quality, imo. I personally felt good using his timing chain set, oil pump, bearings and some gaskets. I'd stay away from hg and water pump. Heard mixed results on the rock rings too. Get yourself an fsm (Google) and read read read. It's not too hard, just do your research. Good luck.
